How To Get Points / How Points Are Calculated

Actions on 6stax have different point values associated with them. This system is brand new, so we constantly adjusting to make things fair and prevent cheating or abuse. The valuations below can change without notice and can affect points retro-actively. We will keep that to a minimum during point related contests. Entering 6 things on a topic and pressing submit creates a stack. Some people have been confused. It's all good! In order to get credit for this, you must create an original topic and then another user must create a stack in your topic. We do this to prevent point abuse. If you create a duplicate topic that gets merged with a pre-existing (or better named) topic, you will also lose your points. Be original, creative, and interesting and it won't be an issue. If you invite someone through the 6stax Facebook app you will get 3 points. Be aware there is a 24 invite per day limit imposed by Facebook. If you wern't aware, there is a great Facebook app for 6stax. It has 100% the functionality of the site plus a bunch of facebook only stuff. Give it a try! If you have work on 6stax.com that would like to move to your Facebook account, you can use the account merge once using the Facebook app. It's on the main upper right hand pull-down menu. After that point activity on either 6stax.com or Facebook will show in both places. If someone you invited through Facebook joins, you will get 20 points. We want things to grow! If you invite people through 6stax.com via email and they join you will get 20 points. You may wonder why you don't get points for inviting people via email and only when they confirm. There is too much room for abuse. We have no way to verify if barack@thewhitehouse.gov is a real address and so you only get credit when they join. Every item in a stack can have context links added to them. If you add one, you will get 3 points. If another user updates your link with a better link, you will lose the points. Make sure to add only good links! These are crazy easy to add and multiple tags can be added in one shot, so they are only 2 points each. You can easily rack up points this way, but make sure they are accurate. You can be penalized for poor or inaccurate tags, so watch out!
